2-Greene edges 3-Southern Cayuga 1-0 in OT in the S4 Class-C Girls Soccer Semis at home. Hailey Butler scores on a mini-breakaway in the opening extra period to seal the victory. Khloe Waltz sets up the play and earns the assist. GK Quinlin Cavanaugh makes 5 saves to earn the clean sheet. This marks the first-ever trip to the sectional title game for GCS!
5-Unatego/Franklin falls to 1-Trumansburg 3-0 in the S4 Class-C Girls Soccer Semis on the road. U/F finishes the season with a record of 13-4-2. Shannon Kingsbury closes out her outstanding senior season with an area-leading 49 goals.
4-Margaretville defeats 1-Charlotte Valley/Schenevus 2-1 in the S4 Class-D Girls Soccer Semis at CV. River Williams scores both goals for the Blue Devils with Xandria Gavette and Amelia Marks each adding an assist. Jordan Odell converts a PK for the lone CV/S goal. Margaretville advances to the S4 title game on 10/30 against Edmeston/Morris.
2-Edmeston/Morris edges 3-Richfield Springs/ODY 2-1 in OT in the S4 Class-D Girls Soccer Semis at ECS. Sophie Robinson scores the game winner just 4 minutes into extra time. E/M is awarded an indirect kick following a dangerous play in the box and the Panthers cash in on the opportunity. Elle Nichols gets credit for the opening E/M goal after her shot deflects off an Eagles defender and into the net for an own goal. Madison Harris buries a PK for the lone RS/ODY goal. Another great battle between these two rivals!
2-Edmeston/Morris defeats 7-Gilboa-Conesville/Roxbury 6-1 in the second round of the S4 Class-D Girls Soccer Tournament at ECS. Sophie Robinson nets 3 goals for E/M. Elle Nichols adds 2 goals and 2 assists with Mavery Bennett scoring 1 goal. Alli Bolton chips in 1 assist. Quinnci Olmstead tallies the lone goal for G-C/R.
